grr…my camera battery died that day and I had a camera phone. We drove to Little Rock, CA to see our aunt and we paid a visit to our dying uncle in the Antelope Valley hospital. It’s a beautiful setting out there because behind their house is the mountains covered in snow and when the sun goes down you see the stars and the moon.
Random fact: My uncle’s room number in the hospital is the same number as my apartment–crazy coincidence.

Admiring the center piece I won on my kitchen counter.
Jan 27th, 2010More Etsy love. This is from Ten Digit Creations and I wanted to buy their sample perfume set. Like I said, this is definitely making me ditch the department stores or any store and collect handmade fragrances because it’s like the price of buying a starbucks coffee and they don’t smell generic and I love how some stores offer mini sizes in sets. So far I’ve only tried Nag Champa. Here are the descriptions:
Serendity – top notes of tangy lemon and jasmine; followed by middle notes of lily, rose petals, African violet, and daylily; sitting on base notes of cedarwood, patchouli, and musk
Tuscan Patchouli -this fragrance is very deep, dark, exotic and definitely masculine. Patchouli blended with heavy woody notes
Angelica – top notes of white lily, jasmine, and rose; followed by middle notes of citrus, violet, and pepper; sitting on base notes of patchouli, sandalwood, and white musk
Dragon’s blood – a warm, woodsy earth scent with notes of amber, vanilla, sandalwood, light tones of powdery musks, and hints of asian florals
Nag Champa – combination of patchouli, sandalwood, and dragon’s blood

My new obsession is not just perfumes but handmade perfumes. I got this one from Anderson Soap Company. It is called “By the Bay” and the smell reminds me of my roadtrip going through Washington State and Oregon because of all the evergreen trees.
The scent: “crushed cloves, cinnamon sticks, and crisp pine needles fresh off the tree, with intoxicating sweet orange freshness.”
Completed another thing on my list: #100 making compost

Going back home. See you later Vegas.
The 15 at night. There’s a city called Zzyzx–I wonder why they call it that?

wow it’s been over a week since I updated so I’ll play catch up.
It finally stopped raining but the trail I usually take is like walking through a river.
lots of picture taking but not so much blogging. Sorry…
Lots of goal achieving but not so much blogging either. Sorry…
Just came back from LA and it 2 something AM and I promise I will play catch up in a few more hours. I need some sleep first. I’m so worn out this week.
I finally bought a planner! I didn’t really have a planner during college unless you count a notebook listing all things I needed to finish like projects but otherwise since I knew my laundry list in college was just homework and studying it was easy to keep a planner in my head. Ironically I need a planner for life because I always think of doing these following errands when I get back home from work and clean this and that and cook and study recipes but by the time i get back, I forget. I even feel the need to pen down people I talk to on the phone otherwise I’d forget. Really, I’m just trying to adjust to a routine. Living by yourself is…well…hard…or I haven’t quite picked up a routine or simply I just easily forget things and it drives me crazy!
My new obsession, I do love fragrances but I love hand made fragrances from Etsy much much more. :-) And it is not an expensive hobby either.
